In connection with the asbestos project and area efficiency improvement, the emeriti have been given new premises on the 3rd floor. The new areas set aside for the emeriti are pleasant and bright.

The emeriti are an important resource

Head of department at IBV, Melinka Butenko, specifies that the emeritus are an important resource for the department, and their contribution to teaching and research is highly valued. It is therefore important for IBV that they have good working conditions, so the department can retain its emeriti as resource persons for as long as possible after they have left their permanent positions. This is greatly appreciated by the emeriti.

- We highly appreciate how IBV recognizes that we can still contribute to the department's professional expertise, as well as being part of its social network. We are moved and impressed by the way IBV does this, by e.g. giving us access to full-fledged office spaces in a common office landscape, meeting rooms for discussions and access the university's IT resources. We feel very well looked after by the department, and it is with pleasure that we in return contribute with the tasks specified in our emeritus agreements, says professor emeritus Olav Sand.

New premises on the 3rd floor

The emeriti are divided into the following rooms; 4104, 4630 and 4628. Here there are meeting tables, workplaces and some storage space.

The administration at IBV has arranged for data and furniture. Thanks to the reuse scheme at the University of Oslo, all of the furnitures are reused, and the areas appear more modern and nice. All of the furniture is recycled.

Room 4624 will now be a common break room for the emeritus, staff and students in this part of the building. Every Thursday between 11.00 and 14.00 the emeritus gather for social and professional exchange. During this time, room 4624 is reserved for the emeriti.

If you want to have a chat with our emeriti, you are most welcome to pop in.
