In the field of interdisciplinary research, the “Sandpits” approach is used to encourage free-thinking. Together with experienced facilitators from the University of Leeds, early and mid-career researchers will work in interdisciplinary groups to brainstorm and develop new ideas. There will be pump priming funding available following the programme to explore the winning ideas further.
We give you the gift of time and space to stop and think about your work and how it might develop through collaborating with other researchers, as well as explore new approaches for reciprocal benefits and innovative discoveries.
We invite researchers within fields related to Sustainable Environment, Climate and/or Energy. Priority is given to fellows at the University of Oslo, but we also invite researchers from the following collaborating institutions to apply:
- Members of Oslo Science City: BI, SINTEF, NGI, T?I
- Members of CIENS: CICERO, NIVA, NILU, NINA, NIBR and The Norwegian Meteorological Institute
We will have short, facilitated sessions, interesting, provocative speakers and plenty of time to collaborate with other fellows. If you sign up, you need to be able to commit to both physical sessions, each one lasts two days (at Holmen Fjordhotell).
- 23-24 September
- 25-26 November
In between the two physical sessions you are strongly encouraged to be active online with your group.
The program is developed by Samantha Aspinall, University of Leeds, and hosted by the University of Oslo.
