Where do I meet two-factor authentication at UiO?

Services with two-factor authentication at UiO

Email and calendar

Two-factor authentication is required for:

  • Outlook on Windows
  • Apple Mail and Calendar for macOS, Outlook for macOS and Gnome Evolution
  • Apple Mail and Calendar for iPhone and iPad, and Gmail and Google Calendar for Android
  • Thunderbird and other IMAP clients

MS 365

  • Two-factor authentication is enabled for Microsoft 365 Cloud service
  • This includes eg. Office apps, OneDrive, Teams etc. 
  • Teams for guests

Feide

  • Two-factor authentication is enabled for Feide. To log in with Feide, you must now always choose to log in with the "Use work or school account" button:

Remote Desktop Connection

Two-factor authentication is required to log on to a Windows client or server via Remote Desktop, using the UiO gateway.

To use Remote Desktop with two-factor authentication, you must use Microsoft Authenticator for the authentication.

UiO Programkiosk

Two-factor authentication is required to use view.uio.no, including the Program kiosk.

VPN

A requirement for two-factor authentication has been implemented for the VPN service at UiO.

Weblogin

From June 2024, there will be a requirement for two-factor authentication for uio.no and the faculties' websites, as well as Canvas and Panopto.

SSH

Requirements for two-factor authentication for the SSH service are being introduced.

There is a requirement for two-factor authentication for login.uio.no for incoming traffic to UiO.

Other jumphosts will get the same requirements.

TSD

When you access Services for sensitive data (TSD), a separate user account is created for the purpose with two-factor authentication.

Educloud

For users of Educloud Research, a separate user account is created for the purpose with two-factor authentication.
