IFIKK announces stipends for master’s students

The department of philosophy, classics, history of art and ideas (IFIKK) is offering stipends for master’s students in six of the department’s research areas for the academic year 2015/2016. The stipends are for master’s students in IFIKK and in the Department of Culture Studies and Oriental Languages (IKOS) who plan to write a master’s thesis or master’s essay in one of the following areas:

Philosophy

  • Ancient and early medieval philosophy (2 stipends)

  • Conceptual engineering (Oslo Research Group in Theoretical Philosophy) (2 stipends)

  • Feminist ethics and environmental philosophy (2 stipends)

History of Ideas

  • Ancient and medieval history of ideas, early modern history of ideas and knowledge and youth and schools (3 stipends)

Art History

  • Art, technology and design (2 stipends)

  • Modernism: visuality and the Norwegian idyll (2 stipends)

The stipends are 30 000 kroner, of which 25 000 is allocated immediately while the allocation of the remaining 5000 is conditional on the candidate finishing the programme on time.

 

Application deadline for Philosophy is the 3th of December

 

The application should be send to the relevant program’s subject leader, with a copy to the programme administrator,  and must contain the following:

  • Indication of which research area your project falls under

  • Confirmation that you have submitted your project description for the master?s thesis or master?s essay in Fronter 

Awarding of the stipends will be based on the quality of the submitted project description.
