We welcome you to a walk along the Aker River, guided in intermediate Norwegian. The river runs through Oslo from Maridalen Lake in the north to the Oslo fjord in the south, and divides the city into east and west. The green scenery is remarkable, and it is truly one of Oslo's most popular and appreciated routes.
Join a visit to Norsk Folkemuseum, one of Europe's largest and oldest open-air museums and a national cultural history museum, uniquely located on Bygd?y in Oslo.
The UiO Green Office opens its doors for a creative summercafé with textiles, coffee and tea.
We invite you to take part in the International Night created by and for our students! This is an evening of celebrating the many different cultures attending this year's summer school, with student made food and entertainment.
Edvard Munch painted "The Scream" which captures the essence of modernity. We will visit the Munch Museum and get an insight into Munch's life through his many works.

Join us for an excursion to beautiful Telemark and experience Norwegian wildlife, mountains, lakes, history and traditional culture. We will stay for one night, and get the opportunity to hike up to Gaustatoppen, see medieval stave churches and much more.
As an introduction to the upcoming excursion to Telemark, we invite you to a two-part movie night at R?nningen Folkeh?yskole, where we will be showing The Heavy Water War series about the World War II sabotage operation at Rjukan.

The official opening of International Summer School 2024 is only for registered guest. Following the opening ceremony, all ISS participants, faculty, and staff members are invited by the City of Oslo to a reception at the City Hall.
