Hjertelig velkommen til Det samfunnsvitenskapelige fakultets tradisjonsrike julesherrysamling. Det er fint ? se at s? mange har tatt seg tid til ? komme. Dette er en fin anledning til ? ta en liten pust i bakken, til ? se litt n?rmere p? hva vi har f?tt til sammen i ?ret som gikk og dessuten ?nske hverandre god jul. Julesherryen er et uttrykk for at julefreden snart senker seg.
Vi kan skue tilbake p? nok et innholdsrikt ?r for ansatte og studenter p? fakultetet. Helt i starten av desember, hadde jeg gleden av ? f? m?te mer enn 20 nye postdok’er ved fakultetet v?rt. Gjennom noen intense minutter presenterte de hvert sitt forskningsprosjekt som de skal gjennomf?re her hos oss. Det ga et utrolig godt bilde av den faglige bredden ved v?rt fakultet, av den s?rs h?ye kvaliteten og av hvor lys v?r fremtid er. Det gror godt i rekkene i fagmilj?ene ved fakultetet.
Kortversjonen av rikets tilstand er at det g?r s? det griner. For gjennom noen turbulente ?r har vi klart oss helt fantastisk godt. Vi skulle slett ikke tro at vi har v?rt p? hjemmekontor, at studentene v?re har hatt mye digital undervisning eller at forskerne v?re ikke har kunnet reise utenlands for ? m?te forskerkollegaer de siste ?rene.
S? hold dere fast n?, her kommer nemlig en sm?rbr?dliste over noe av det enormt mye vi har f?tt til i ?r:
Vi har f?tt SFU-tildeling til fakultet. Dette er fakultetets f?rste, og denne SFUen er et 中国竞猜网_中国足彩网-足球推荐sprosjekt mellom Matnat, det humanistiske fakultet og v?rt fakultet. Senteret skal arbeide med flerfaglig og tverrfaglig utdanning og er utviklet med utgangspunkt i UiOs Honoursprogram. Men vi er sikre p? at SFUen ogs? kommer til ? skape ringvirkninger for annen undervisning ved fakultetet, og vi ser forventningsfullt frem til oppstarten.
Vi har vedtatt en ny strategisk plan for fakultetet og en ny handlingsplan for likestilling
Vi leverer fremdeles str?lende godt p? forskning, og hadde blant annet en sv?rt sterk finalist til SFF ved Sosialantropologisk institutt. Det er arbeid som pekte seg ut fordi hele instituttet var involvert i prosjektet, og jeg er sikker p? at SAI og vi vil f? mye igjen for det arbeidet som ble lagt ned i s?knaden, selv om den dessverre ikke gikk gjennom i NFR.
Vi har styrket administrasjonen p? flere m?ter, blant annet ved ? etablere en ny HR-seksjon, vi har samlet og styrket kommunikasjonsressursene og styrket den forskningsadministrative st?tten. Dette er grep vi tar for ? im?tekomme skjerpede krav og behov hos instituttene, som ogs? har vokst sterkt de siste ?rene.
Vi har gjennomf?rt og fulgt opp ARK-unders?kelsen, og m?let v?rt er at det skal v?re godt ? g? p? jobb n?r man er tilknyttet SV-fakultetet.
Vi har ansatt ny leder for TIK-senteret.
Vi har utviklet landets f?rste fullintegrerte karrierest?tte-tilbud for studenter gjennom Finn din fremtid. Og gjennom den pedagogiske enheten EILIN ser vi helt nytt p? utdanning. Dette er et tilbud som vil komme b?de underviserne og studentene v?re til gode.
Vi har vedtatt en fakultetsstrategi for infrastruktur, vi har implementert UiOs reviderte kvalitetssystem for utdanning, og vi har gjennomf?rt en NOKUT-evaluering.
Dette er bare noen av de mange tingene vi sammen har f?tt til. I tillegg har studentene v?re hatt rekordh?y studiepoengproduksjon under pandemien, og vi har hatt en betydelig vekst i antall ansatte, i hovedsak som et resultat av veksten i den eksterne forskningsfinansieringen.
Alt dette har vi gjort mens vi har v?rt spredt for alle vinder – f?rst p? hjemmekontor og s? p? ulike midlertidige kontorer mens Eilert Sundts hus ble pusset opp.
Det er med andre ord lov til ? v?re klar for juleferie mot slutten av uka, og det er helt sikkert flere enn meg som gleder seg til jul!
Jeg er s? glad for ? v?re dekan ved Det samfunnsvitenskapelige fakultet, og gleden over ? jobbe p? dette flotte fakultetet det er en glede jeg deler med resten av fakultetsledelsen. Vi skal v?re – og er – stolte over alt vi f?r til sammen med alle gode hjelpere p? instituttene, sentrene og i fakultetsadministrasjonen. Men vi skal aldri sl? oss til ro med status quo, og fortsetter innsatsen til neste ?r.

Editorial: Anne Julie's Greetings and Summary during the Christmas Sherry
Dear colleagues!
A warm welcome to the Faculty of Social Sciences' traditional Christmas sherry gathering. It's nice to see that so many people have taken the time to be here. This is a great opportunity to take a little break, and take a closer look at what we have achieved together over the past year, and also to wish each other a Merry Christmas. The Christmas sherry is an expression that the Christmas peace that will soon descend.
We can look back on another eventful year for all the staff and students at the faculty. At the very beginning of December, I had the pleasure of meeting more than 20 new postdocs at our faculty. During a few intense minutes, they each presented the research project that they will carry out here with us. It gave an incredibly good picture of the academic breadth at our faculty, of the exceptionally high quality and of how bright our future is. There is good growth in the ranks of the professional environments at the faculty.
The short version of the state of the nation is that things are going wonderfully. Because, we have managed fantastically well through some turbulent years. It’s difficult to believe that we have been working from our home offices, that our students have had a lot of digital teaching or that our researchers have not been able to travel abroad to meet research colleagues in recent years.
So hold on tight, here is a list of some of the enormous amount we have achieved this year:
We have received SFU allocation for the faculty. This is the faculty's first, and this SFU is a collaborative project between Matnat, the Faculty of Humanities and our faculty. The centre will work with multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary education and has been developed based on the University of Oslo's Honours programme. But we are sure that the SFU will also create ripple effects for other teaching at the faculty, and we look forward to the commencement with anticipation.
We have adopted a new strategic plan for the faculty and a new action plan for gender equality
We still deliver brilliantly well in research, and among other things we had a very strong finalist for SFF at the Department of Social Anthropology. This work stood out because the entire department was involved in the project, and I am sure that SAI and we will get a big return on the work that was put into the application, even if it unfortunately did succeed in the Research Council of Norway.
We have bolstered the administration in several ways, including by establishing a new HR section. We have gathered and strengthened the communication resources and improved the support for research administration. These are measures we are taking to meet the increased requirements and needs of the departments, which have also grown strongly in recent years.
We have carried out and followed up the ARK survey, and our goal is that it should be good to go to work when you are associated with the Social Science faculty.
We have hired a new manager for the TIK Centre for Technology, Innovation and Culture.
We have developed the country's first fully integrated career support offer for students through ‘Find your future’. And we take a completely new look at education through the educational unit EILIN. This is an offer that will benefit both our teachers and students.
We have adopted a faculty strategy for infrastructure, we have implemented the University of Oslo's revised quality system for education, and we have carried out a NOKUT evaluation.
These are just some of the many things we have achieved together. In addition, our students have had record credit production during the pandemic, and we have had significant growth in the number of employees, mainly as a result of the growth in external research funding.
We have done all this while we have been scattered to the four winds, first from our home offices and then from various temporary offices while the Eilert Sundt building was being renovated.
In other words, you deserve to be ready for the Christmas holidays towards the end of the week, and I am certainly not the only one who is looking forward to Christmas!
I am so happy to be Dean at the Faculty of Social Sciences, and the joy of working at this great faculty is a joy I share with the rest of the faculty management. We should be – and we are – proud of everything we are achieving together with all the great helpers at the departments, centres and in the faculty administration. But we will never settle for the status quo, and we will continue our efforts in the New Year.
Thank you very much each and every one of you for your efforts in 2022. I hope you have a harmonious and refreshing Christmas holiday, and I look forward to meeting you all again, healthy and rejuvenated, in 2023!
