First you need an authenticator app on your mobile device, for generating one-time codes. There are many such apps, but we recommend using Microsoft Authenticator.
- Download and install Microsoft Authenticator on your phone. Download from App Store (iPhone) or from Google Play (Android)
- Download and install Google Authenticator on your phone. Download from App Store (Iphone) or from Play Store (Android)
In order to get the one-time codes for logging in to Educloud Research, you need to set up a connection between the authenticator app and Educloud Research. This is done by scanning a QR code that you get from the latter.
- Go to research.educloud.no/ via PC or tablet
- Choose Need a new one-time code?
- Log in through ID-porten
- Select Generate new QR-code.
- Open Microsoft Authenticator app on your mobile device
- If you have not done this before, select Get started
- If you have already used this authenticator app, click on the plus icon to add a new connection/two-factor code.
- Choose Scan a QR code. The camera on your phone should now open.
- Scan the QR-code from your PC/tablet.
- The two-factor code for Educloud Research will now be added to the bottom of the list in your autenticator app (not necessarily with that exact name).
- The autenticator app will generate one-time codes every 30 seconds.
